Victor Charles HAGEMAN (1868-1938) was a Belgian painter, painter of animated compositions, landscapes, he also was an engraver. He was student at the Academie des Beaux-Arts in Antwerp. He participated to the group 'Als ik kan'. He also worked in Antwerp, Brussels and appeared on the Anwerp exhibitionsfrom 1904, expecially at the Salon of Contemporary Art of 1908 and at the exhibit of the National Society of Fine Arts in 1913, as well as in Dusseldorf, Brussels and at the Palais des Glaces of Munich also in 1913. He picks out of favoritsm, jews, emigrants, farmers, as subjectss for his paintings, but also types and scenes of the famous Antwerp Harbour. He paints very heavily and then work with a knife.
