Important Art Nouveau bronze pendulum (clock) with golden patina decorated with two hippopotamus teeth, typical of the 1900 Belgian Art Nouveau era during the reign of Leopold II.
This type of clock is often attributed (to trod) to Victor Horta (see images) but could resemble the work of Fernand Dubois.
Floral base "boost", also recalling the style of Henry Van de Velde.
Dimensions of the clock 55 x 41 x 22cm.
In very good condition. Note, the clock pendulum is missing.
As part of the new regulations concerning the export from the EU of works made up of protected animal materials, a certificate from Mr. Werner Adriaensens (curator of the Brussels fiftieth museum) confirming the dating of this piece will be attached, allowing the buyer to request for a CITES.
