After studying at the Namur middle school, in 1913 she attended the classes of landscape painter Désiré Merny at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Namur.
In 1919, she entered the Académie de Bruxelles for seven years, studying painting with Herman Richir and Jean Delville, and sculpture with Victor Rousseau and Paul Du Bois. She won four gold medals and was awarded the Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1927. Numerous trips to Amsterdam, Paris and The Hague completed her training.
She then embarked on a brilliant career as a painter and sculptor, which led her to settle permanently in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert in 1930.
Paule Bisman's work remains rooted in tradition. The Flemish painters of the 19th century attracted her more than the new currents favored by young artists. More classical, she finds her inspiration in nature, architecture and the people around her. In painting, her best-known subjects are depictions of interiors and portraits. Exhibitions in Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Liège, Charleroi, Namur and Spa, as well as in Paris and the French provinces.41cm high with base.beautiful patina and marble.
