Marius Sabino, born in Sicily in 1878 and died in Paris in 1961, was a renowned master glassmaker and sculptor. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, in 1925 he founded his own company, Sabino Glass, specialising in opalescent glass. His work, influenced by Art Deco, is renowned for its finesse and innovation. Sabino created luminaires, vases and statuettes, often decorated with floral and animal motifs. His work was exhibited at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in 1925, where it was a great success. Sabino used advanced techniques to create unique lighting effects, making his pieces highly sought-after. His company prospered, becoming a world reference for art glass. Sabino receives numerous commissions for public buildings and private residences. His creations are distinguished by their elegance and modernity, perfectly embodying the Art Deco aesthetic. Although his pieces are mass-produced, they retain an exceptional artistic quality. Today, the works of Marius Sabino are held in museums and private collections around the world. He leaves a lasting legacy in the art of glass, symbolising the elegance and innovation of his era.
