A miniature ceramic reindeer sculpture, signed Gustavsberg, designed by Lisa Larson for her Skansen series in 1976, depicting animals of the far north. The Gustavsberg ceramics factory was founded in 1825 in Gustavsberg, on the island of Värmdö in Sweden, in a former brickyard.
In the 1970s, Jan Landqvist and Sven-Eric Juhlin (born in 1940), founder of Ergonomi Design Gruppen, designed sanitary ware and plastic products primarily for institutions. In 1980, Karin Björquist (born in 1927) succeeded Lindberg, and in 1987, Gustavsberg was sold to the Finnish company Wärtsilä. The business was subsequently divided into three smaller companies that continued to manufacture ceramics in the old factory.
Since 2000, it has been part of the Villeroy & Boch group, and has specialized in the design and manufacture of sanitary equipment.
