Oil on canvas by Charles Bertauld, a French animal painter born in the 19th century, who brilliantly depicts the barnyard, barn and henhouse scenes of his time. Little is known about his life. Note the detail of the hens in their environment, straw, pieces of wood... The colors are very luminous and no restoration is necessary. The canvas is set in a modern, classically-inspired gilded frame. The dimensions given (45 x 37 cm) are those of the visible part of the canvas. With the frame included, the dimensions are 62 x 54 cm. A second canvas on the same subject is also for sale. Possible discount on the price of the whole.
