Marcel Joseph Henri Guillemard (Paris 09/02/1886 - Avon 12/19/1932)
A French decorative artist and sculptor, he established himself as the first iconic designer and interior designer of the Primavera workshop at Printemps department stores. He advocated individual comfort as a luxury that should pre-exist in all homes.
At the age of 15, he joined the Germain Pilon School of Applied Arts. This training opened the doors to the studios and offices of major Parisian firms. Marcel Guillemard, trained in drawing and interior design projects, participated in furniture projects for palaces, grand hotels, and ocean liners.
On October 30, 1917, he was contacted by the director of the Primavera workshop of the Printemps department store, with a view to occupying one of the first draftsman positions.
Marcel Guillemard's career was launched and he continued to present new creations at the major annual exhibitions and to expand his responsibilities in the name of the principles of the Primavera workshop. The official consecration of his career was undoubtedly the award in 1925, at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, of the Grand Prix Diploma: Class 7 - Furniture Set.
