Pair of armchairs / loung chairs designed by Enzo Berti and produced by Lapalma Italy around 1980.
Structure in metallised aluminium-look steel, beautifully constructed and assembled to a very high quality.
Metal slats upholstered in black saddle-stitched leather form the seats and backrests.
Sober, pure and modernist line, a perfect example of Italian design from the 1980s.
Good condition (normal signs of wear from use and age).
Biography:
Enzo Berti was born in 1950 in Pianiga, near Venice. During his studies at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts and after taking the industrial design course at the architecture department of the University of Venice, he designed and created a large number of art objects that have been exhibited at major international exhibitions.
Since the 1980s he has worked full-time in industrial design, collaborating with prestigious furniture brands such as Magis, Artemide, Lago and Gervasoni.
In the 90s, he took on the artistic direction of numerous projects, working and collaborating with Lapalma, Montìna, Bross and Bauline, and helping to launch new brands such as Verdesign, Torremato, Kreoo, I-Radium and Hiko.
He has won numerous awards, including, in 2014, the Compasso d'Oro Award for the design of Bitta, an outdoor lamp.
He still lives and works on the Riviera del Brenta.
