Camille Trutié de Varreux(1872-1942) Cristallerie de Pantin (France), known as De Vez, was a French glassmaker who was born in 1854 and died in 1931. He was mainly active during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. De Vez was renowned for his creations in cameo glass, a technique involving several layers of coloured glass, etched to reveal patterns. He ran the Pantin factory, where he produced works influenced by the à‰cole de Nancy, with floral and natural themes. His pieces are often signed "De Vez" and are distinguished by their artistic and technical quality. The use of motifs inspired by nature, such as flowers, landscapes and birds, is recurrent in his works. Gabriel Lévy has mastered the art of glass with creations that combine technical complexity with refined aesthetics. His works are exhibited in several museums and private collections. De Vez contributed to the development of the French glass industry in the early 20th century. His work remains highly prized by collectors for its beauty and technical innovation.
