Art Deco ball vase with modernist sandblasted decoration, mauve color called plum. Mounted in the period with a solid silver staircase collar from the DELHEID goldsmiths in Brussels (Belgium), perfectly matching the interior and exterior of it. Very thick quality, deep engraving, most likely a work by PAUL BERNARD or CHARLES CATTEAU for the Scailmont glassworks, 1930s. In perfect condition. The Scailmont glassworks was founded in 1901 in Manage, Belgium. It opened a Decorative Art department in 1924 and from 1925, under the direction of CHARLES CATTEAU (Boch Frères Kéramis ceramics), master glassmakers such as PAUL BERNARD (GOBENA), Henri Heemskerk, Paul Heller, Robert Hofman Léon Mairesse participated in the takeoff and growth of the company. Different techniques were practiced there, including sandblasting, pressed glass, molded or blown glass, cloisonné enameled glass, and acid-etched glass. Working according to the modern methods of the time and in the spirit of the Daum glass and crystal works in Nancy, René Lalique, Jean Luce, André Delatte, Artver, Legras, etc.
