Rare and Unique Big Art Deco Sandstone Vase by Edgard Aubry Artist: Edgard Aubry Signature: Unsigned
Condition: perfect condition
Edgard is the son of Joseph Aubry and Félicie Henriette Bertrand. He married Bouffioulx on February 27, 1904. He began his training in paternal pottery. In 1903, he became a turner at the Gilles pottery in Châtelet (Belgium).When the Brussels artist Willem Delsaux (nl) moved to Bouffioulx in 1907, they began to create vases with an impressionist decor. He also turns vases for other artists like Pierre Paulus.In 1908, he set up his own workshop and created salty sandstone fire, sometimes decorated with motifs, reliefs and engravings. Between 1916 and 1937, he participated in several national and international exhibitions. It is found in particular at the Pavilion of Honor at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Arts and Industrial in 1925 but also in Glasgow in 1928.
