Old edition from 1950/60 in black skai. Cousins ??and bottom of files of 2 armchairs redone and 1 vulcanized corner (see photos detail). Inner back and all the back of the original cone in beautiful condition. Good stability. Biography: Panton was first trained as an architectural engineer and studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. During the first two years of his career, 1950-1952, he collaborated with Arne Jacobsen, another famous Danish architect and designer, and in 1955 he founded his own creative studio. In the late 1950s, his chairs became less conventional, feet disappear and records fade. For example, one of these first chairs K1 is a cone. Towards the end of the 1960s, Verner Panton forsake the creation of objects for a time to devote to the design of domestic environments that could be described as psychedelic because forming colorful sets, composed of curved shapes, walls upholstered and light, all taking up all the available space, floor-to-ceiling. One of the most remarkable examples is the interior design of the liner Loreley in Cologne in 1970.
