Christian BRASSEUR painting representing a bouquet of flowers. Oil on canvas of 50x40 cm, it is titled on the back by the artist the bouquet of flowers in the moonlight. Born in 1940, originally from Corbion (Bouillon), he is part of the Vresse-sur-Semois school (as e.g. Albert Raty and Marie Howet with whom he was friends). He exhibited for the first time in the salons of La Glycine in 1983. He has also participated in overall exhibitions in Namur, Dinant, Vresse, Vielsam, Arlon, Libramont and Sedan. Excerpt from the site fondation-chaidron.be: His work: Christian Brasseur reveals an assured and powerful touch that gives life to his works through the different techniques he uses: painting, watercolour, pastel and gouache. His technique is solid and his touch is confident, which gives his work a remarkable depth. Simplicity and youthfulness are the key words of his painting. He likes to represent landscapes, village and city views and bouquets of flowers. Mixing strength and softness, his paintings reflect his warm character.
