Roger GUERIN (1896 - 1954), planter with stylized pelicans, circa 1925, cast in salt-fired enameled stoneware, 23 x 40 x 20 cm. Signature intaglio under the base "Grès d'Art Guérin 754".

A student of Willem Delsaux, Roger Guérin learned to throw pottery in two potteries in Châtelet. From 1918 to 1951, he founded several companies through which he produced artistic and architectural stoneware while also teaching at the Institut Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs de la Cambre in Brussels. He collaborated with numerous Belgian and foreign artists and participated in numerous exhibitions.
