...SOLD...
Sculpture with cranes or egrets forming a large bottle cooler. Attributed to GABRIELLA BINAZZI FORESTO Firenze, Italy circa 1960. Oval brass structure, silvered bronze crested bird heads & white coral as hoopoe (or crown) on the head. Very good condition, note that this piece can also be used as a planter or champagne bucket. H 55cm. L 65cm. This refined work is also reminiscent of the work of Gabriella Crespi and Antonio Pavia, two Italian artists who created sculptures of birds and other animals in brass in the 1960s, using materials such as agate stone, coral, shells (nautilus, etc.) and ostrich eggs. Quintessential chic, a mix of cool luxury, seventies glamour and timeless elegance, typical of Italian design in the 1960s and 80s.
