Xavier le Normand seeks to constantly reevaluate his techniques in search of new textures and material effects. The art of glassmaking fascinates him. In his works, he confronts the immediacy and perpetual movement of blowing hot glass with the time invested when he reworks and resculpts cold glass. The artist feeds his endless inspiration from his numerous travels around the world, where he met the best, including Monica Guggisberg and Philippe Baldwin. His sculptures resemble imaginary cartographies, crossed by strange rivers or volcanoes; unknown gaseous planets; multicolored spheres that fascinate the viewer.
