Xavier le Normand is constantly trying to re-evaluate his techniques in search of new textures and effects of matter. The art of making glass fascinates him. In his works, he confronts the immediacy and the perpetual movement of blowing the burning glass in the face of the time invested when he reworks and resculpts the cold glass. The artist nourishes his inspiration for the endless of his many trips around the world, where he met the best, including Monica Guggisberg and Philippe Baldwin. His sculptures resemble imaginary maps, crossed by strange rivers or volcanos; unknown gaseous planets; multicoloured spheres that fascinate the viewer. In 2009, Xavier le Normand won the prestigious Liliane Bettencourt Prize for Hand Intelligence.
