Large brutalist abstract ceramic wall sculpture made by Elisabeth Vandeweghe for Perignem Amphora around 1970.
Perfect original condition, made in 3 assembled parts (see photo), color red, orange, black.
Easy to place (horizontal or vertical), metal brackets at the back of the room.
PERIGNEM - AMPHORA:
In 1947, Rogier and Laurent Vandeweghe created the PERIGNEM artistic ceramics workshops, "per ignem" or "by fire" in Latin, in Beernem. The Vandeweghe brothers were trained in the workshop of Alphonse Baert in Sint-Lucas in Ghent, with Joost Maréchal as teacher. A few years later they will create AMPHORA in Sint-Andries Brugge.
Baudouin Monteyne, Myranna Pyck, Jan Kellner, Emiel Lefevere, Elisabeth Vandeweghe, Camille d'Havé, Léon Gossens, Oswald Kuijken, Yves Rhayé, Octave Landuyt, Elie Van. Damme will join the group of ceramists from PERIGNEM.
Participation in many international exhibitions including the Universal Exhibition of 1958 ....
