Arthur Craco belonged to the group of symbolist renovators and was inspired by organic forms (plants or animals). He participated in the revival of chryselephantine sculpture and exhibited in the Congolese pavilion at the 1897 Universal Exhibition. Craco worked successively in different workshops before coming to Andenne at the invitation of Eugène Losson. Ahead of his time and sometimes misunderstood, he distinguished himself in his desire to renew the art of ceramics in Belgium. His art is omnipresent in the urban landscape, especially in Brussels and Andenne.
