Important Art Deco ceramic sculpture ( 55 cm long ! ) representing a merchant elephant.
Great quality of realization, very beautiful proportions, realistic details.
Rare model (not to be found) executed in the spirit of the "animal crackers", also produced in the 1920s/1930s.
The piece is numbered under the belly, corresponding to the manufacturer's model number, reminding the numbering of the Goldscheider earthenware factory.
Probable origin: Czechoslovakia or Austria.
Perfect condition, a slight stain on one foot to be noticed (see last picture, red arrow).
