L.Vandamme & Degué : a pair of French art deco wall sconces, 1930 France

L.Vandamme & Degué A nice pair of authentic 1925-1930 French art deco wall sconces in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding two slip shades in clear frosted moulded-pressed glass by Degué. The company of David Guéron, founded in 1926. Guéron employed the ceramist and designer Edouard Cazaux as his artistic director and head designer. In 1936 production stopped and the company finaly closed down in 1939. This model is represented in the old Degué catalog under #500. This pinecone model is never signed. I have a rare one in my collection that is marked 500 on the rim but that's as far as it goes, one with a Degué signature has never been seen. The sconces were designed and produced by the Paris France (16 rue Popincourt) based lighting manufacturer Louis Vandamme. It is represented in the 1932 Vandamme catalog. The catalogs are of coarse no part of this sale. The sconces are 31,3 cm (12,3 inches) high 20,2 cm wide and 15,5 cm deep. They are in very good condition. I have renickeled and patinated the fixtures. One of the two slip shades has a small chip or moulding irregularity on the rim. Rather common for 90 y/o slip shades. And it does not show since it's completely hidden by the mount. The sconces are rewired with E14 sockets so you can use our modern light bulbs for them. I will add two good quality LED bulbs to the parcel. For the US Canada or Japan I will wire them with American candelabra base sockets. For European countries I will place E14 ones.
