H.Mouynet : a pair of French art deco wall sconces, 1930 France

H.Mouynet A beautiful pair of 1925-1930 French art deco wall lights in nickel on cast solid brass holding thick glass panels in frosted moulded-pressed glass. The sconces were made by Henri Mouynet. Mouynet was a producer of bronze and forged iron lighting fixtures. He had a large company in Paris working mainly in a neo-classical style but he made lamps sconces and chandeliers in modern (art déco) style as well. In 1926 he built a huge building at 11 rue Etienne Marcel prolongée (nowadays named Roger Verlomme street). After the crisis he was forced to sell it. H.Markhbeinn, who had a business importing and distributing bohemian glasses from eastern europe, bought the place in 1937. The wall sconces are represented in the old Mouynet catalog (see last picture). The shades make a wonderful match with the brass mounts depicting the same decoration. They were done in clear glass that was frosted by acid and localy polished to give them glossy highlights. It is unknown which glass factory made these shades for mouynet. The sconces are 32,5 cm high (12-51/64) and have a lenght of 21,8 cm. They project 12 cm from the wall. And are in very good condition. I have renickeled and patinated the fixtures. The sconces are rewired with E14 sockets so you can use our modern light bulbs for them. I will add two good quality LED bulbs to the parcel. For the US Canada or Japan I will wire them with American candelabra base sockets. For European countries I will place E14 ones. The wall lights will be shipped by priority mail.
