Raymond LEFEVRE (1945-): "Brel and the flat country" painting oil on canvas

The painter and former Professor of Music History, was born on April 30, 1945 in Ixelles (Brussels). As he has been drawing since his childhood, he undertook pictorial studies (decorative and artistic painting) at a very young age in various Academies in Brussels, especially in Molenbeek. After the death of his parents, he also studied Musicology and graduated as a Professor of Music History. He also undertakes several study trips to Austria, Germany, France, Scotland, Holland, Greece, etc. Many exhibitions across Europe and on other continents such as Canada, the United States and Japan constitute his artistic journey. Exhibitions during which Raymond Lefèvre collects a plethora of honours such as, among others, a Gold Medal at the 2nd Salon des Seigneurs de l'Art at the Palais des Papes in Avignon, France (August 1985), a Silver Medal from the National Federation of French Culture in Paris (1985), the second Prize with Silver Palette at the 13th Parc Rocheteau International Salon Knowledge of our Europe in France and the 1st prize Landscapes category in autumn 2003, the Goya Grand Prix at the Brussels Festival (1990)... The painter formed a remarkable name in Belgium, France, and more particularly in Austria where he lived and worked for many years. To date, he has produced more than 800 works: Landscapes, marines, many portraits, nudes, many narrative pictorial compositions and also themed paintings on Music and Astronomy.
