The artist, a schoolteacher in a small village in southern Belgium, is passionate about watercolors and the landscapes of North Africa, where he regularly travels as soon as his means allow. Occasionally, he runs out of paper, forcing him to paint on the back of his first works, notably the watercolor shown here. A sumptuous Arab face on the front and a full-length child on the back. Dedicated to his friend Arthur Ney.
