Rare lamp with 2 branches imitating the olive wood, by Eugène Grandjean-Jourdan in Vallauris Golfe-Juant in France. Everything is original, including the linen shade. electricity ok. To note: It lacks 1 top of soquet (see photo), a small blow on the trunk part (not more than 3mm, see photo detail). Biography: The famous "faux bois" of the Grandjean-Jourdan dynasty (Sébastien and then his son Eugène Grandjean). The idea of ??imitating olive wood is born by chance while a decorator seeks to blend with a cotton brush strokes background wood color of a ceramics. Born in Golfe-Juan in 1920, Eugène Grandjean completed his secondary studies in Cannes. From 1940, he learned potter's craft from his father, Sébastien Grandjean. The name of this factory is already Grandjean-Jourdan but it produces then culinary pottery. From that date, Eugène Grandjean will not leave the factory and in 1957, the date of the death of his father, he definitely takes his direction. In 1981 the factory closes its doors.
