Porcelaine de Paris - Manufacture du Duc d'Angoulême, covered sugar bowl, 18th century

SUCRIER and its lid with adjoining tray in PARIS porcelain - ATTRIBUTED to the Manufacture du Duc d'Angouleme - Ep. XVIIIe
The sugar bowl is oval in shape, with a truncated cone-shaped "sheath", grooved at the base and molded at the top, and fitted with two ring-shaped handles. The lid is high, slightly curved, notched at one end for the sprinkler spoon, and topped with a pinecone-shaped grip. The adjoining tray is oval, with foliage and festoons in relief at each end.
HARD Porcelain
White background with polychrome and gold decoration. On the body, a band decorated with a garland of arabesques and flowering foliage. Foliage garlands and gold fillets on the edges and body. The tray and lid are similarly decorated. Gilded handles, grip and festoons.
