This is a vintage Art Deco table. It's probably a high-quality Belgian work from the 1920s. It's a rare model with a totally atypical and original design. The Art Deco codes are present, but there is also an Asian influence and, in a totally precursory manner, certain features of the Memphis movement, such as the oversized hooves at the base of the legs. Probably the work of a cabinetmaker whose identity remains to be determined. In any case, a great deal of care has gone into the manufacture of this piece of furniture. This is evidenced by the use of burr amboyna, black lacquer and the quality of the frame, whose crosspieces supporting the top are also upholstered in amboyna. This piece of furniture can also be diverted from its primary use, as a dining table, to be used as a desk or even a display console. This is a rare piece of furniture of spectacular design and exemplary craftsmanship, fully restored and repolished with a buffer.
