Large oval dining table in rosewood, Scandinavian design ca 1970

Here's a table model that has become, in recent years, emblematic of the design of the 1960/1970 decade. It's a Scandinavian work of art characterized by beautiful functionality, clean design and meticulous craftsmanship. This model is rare in its oval configuration. What's more, it's out of the ordinary in terms of its measurements: almost 3 meters long (with extensions installed) by 120 cm wide, enough to seat between 12 and 14 guests. Without extensions, this beautiful table measures 180 cm in length, so it can accommodate between 8 and 10 place settings. The second rare feature of this model is its wood veneer. While this model is often made of teak wood, this one is made of rosewood veneer, which is far more precious. The table has been completely restored (stripped, sanded) and varnished with a lightly satin-finished Osmo hard oil (almost 10 coats). The table is therefore in impeccable structural and cosmetic condition. The slides for the two fifty-centimetre extension leaves glide smoothly, the metal tenons fitting perfectly, and the base, which splits to open the top completely, is perfectly stable. All eight closing flaps are present and functional. Here's a piece of furniture that's right up to date, virtually perfect after its restoration and in a precious wood finish, all at a competitive price compared with its low-end teak counterparts.
