Diameter 22cm Gustave Doré was born in Strasbourg in 1832, and was a French illustrator, caricaturist, painter, lithographer and sculptor. He came to sculpture late, in 1878, after perfecting his painting skills. Some of his sculptures can be found in the Musee d'Orsay.
