Rare model with foundry stamp and bronze stamp.

Pupil of Vibert at the école des Beaux-Arts in Geneva, Pierre le Faguays worked with various publishers, including Max Le Verrier, the Susse foundry, Etling and the nephews of J. Lehman, among others. His style is close to that of Demetre Chiparus.
He participated in his first exhibition at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français in 1922. He received an honorable mention in 1926 and another honorable mention, in the Sculpture section, in 1927.
In collaboration with Marcel Bouraine, he created the group Stèle et évolution. He also collaborated with artists Sibyle May and Edouard Cazaux.
Highly prolific, his work tackles materials as varied as marble, stone, terracotta, bronze, ivory and alabaster. He is particularly inspired by the statues of "Tanagra". Faguays is also well known for his creations in cast iron under various pseudonyms such as Guerbe and Fayral, the surnames of his mother and wife.
