Painter who was a member of the Belgian Society of Sea Painters, along with Gustave Camus, Léon Devos, Jean Ransy, Roger Somville, Taf Wallet and others.The association was set up in 1930 by the marine painters Maurice Pauwaert and Louis Royon at the instigation of Henry De Vos, then Director General of the Administration of the Merchant Navy. The association's primary aim was to exhibit at the 1930 Universal Exhibition in Antwerp. Nevertheless, the group remained active for 37 years. The Belgian Society of Sea Painters organised exhibitions in Brussels, Antwerp, Liège, Ostend and Namur, as well as in Norway. Exhibitions in Brussels were held mainly at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, but also at Karreveld Castle. When Henry De Vos died in 1974, the group disbanded, but its activities had effectively ceased in 1967. The last members organised a final exhibition at the Schaerbeek town hall in 1989.
