Painter, creator of tapestries, stained glass and frescoes. Husband of Jeanne Salentiny. Trained at the Académie de Namur and at La Cambre in Brussels with P. Delvaux. Later taught at the Académie de Namur (1950-1983). Began in a lyrical abstract style imbued with powerful symbolism. Around 1966, this symbolic vision darkened as a result of tragic family circumstances, and black dominated his palette for a time. From 1967, he turned to figuration, in which women took centre stage. In the press:
"This extraordinary personality places women at the centre of his work, women and interiors decorated with flowers or richly flowered gardens. The deep colours spread out in broad velvety tones give his work an intense but calming sensuality". (R.D.) In the 1970s, landscape and vegetation appeared in his work. With Yvonne Gérard, he created stained glass windows for churches in the provinces of Namur and Luxembourg. Works in the Museums of Charleroi, Liège, Mons and Ostend. Mentioned in BAS I and in "Deux Siècles de Signatures d'Artistes de Belgique".
