Painter. Regentat in plastic arts at the Ecole Normale de Mons. Began as an expressionist and moved towards abstraction and constructivism around 1961. In 1967, he returned to figuration, first in a still-synthesized style, then in a more realistic style. Creates a world of astonishing, solitary, anguished characters, sometimes reminiscent of Breughel or Jérà'me Bosch. They don't really seem to fit into this world, seeking out the company of animals rather than their own kind. In 1968, he co-founded the Figure Quatre group with Marcel Delmotte and Christian Hocquet. Bibliography: Le dictionnaire des artistes plasticiens de Belgique des 19e et 20e siècles by Paul Piron.
