Post-expressionist painting by LUC PEROT in 1977, entitled ‘Seaside' on the back. An intimate and peaceful atmosphere intensified by the avant-garde choice of colour combinations: red, orange, mauve... Oil on canvas in perfect condition, American black/gold frame (106cm x 86cm). Biography: Luc Perot (Namur 1922 - 1985) was a Belgian post-expressionist painter. He trained at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Namur and was a pupil of Albert Dandoy and Paul Delvaux at La Cambre (Brussels) in the monumental painting studio. In 1950, he became a professor at the Académie de Namur. Influenced by Flemish expressionism (Rik Wouters...) but also by Belgian symbolism (Léon Spilliaert...) and Henri Matisse. He expresses himself through lyrical abstraction tinged with symbolism, where dreams, mystery and colour dominate. His works are bathed in a singular intimacy, with a definite plastic strength, finding inspiration in his life and the world around him. Luc Perot, indifferent to fashions, manages to move seamlessly from black and white to the most intense colour, from a neutral touch to a feverish attack, as his extensive output bears witness. From 1945 he exhibited in Namur and throughout the country (Ostend, etc.), including, in 1974, in Laethem-St-Martin, alongside Léon Spilliaert and Paul Delvaux, two undisputed masters of Belgian painting. He has also exhibited at various times throughout France and in Poland, both in group and solo shows. He has also received several awards and distinctions. His work can be found in numerous collections, both private and public. Bibliography: - Echanges culturels franco-belges, Artistes Namurois, Charleville-Mézières 1970. - 43rd Salon, Palais de Beaux-Arts de Charleroi, 1970. - 50 years of painting in Wallonia and Brussels, cacef. - First triennial of artists from the Province of Namur, 1976. - Triennial of artists from the Province of Namur, 1979.
