Peter Briggs, born in 1950 and died in 2022, was a renowned British sculptor and printmaker. The son of a botanist, he was deeply inspired by nature in his work, particularly trees and their complex structures. From 1980 to 1990, he taught at the à‰cole des Beaux-Arts in Tours, working particularly in bronze and cast iron. From 1996 to 1998, at the Manufacture de Sèvres, he created several sculptures using innovative enamelling techniques, applying colourless enamel and light colours by insufflation. His work is marked by a meticulous exploration of organic and mineral forms.
