This pair of sculptural lamps, attributed to Jansem, takes the form of a stylized palm tree, entirely crafted from cut, hammered, and patinated metal. Each lamp consists of a central stem topped with a generous bouquet of metal leaves, cut into wide segments with serrated edges, evoking both tropical lushness and the raw aesthetic of the 1960s. The leaves, layered in several crowns, create a dense and dramatic volume, typical of Jansem's decorative pieces when working with metal. The whole rests on a simple geometric base, reinforcing the contrast between the rigor of the base and the exuberance of the foliage. As it stands, the pair is in good overall condition, with a consistent patina, but requires: • cleaning, • and some minor restoration (adjustments to the leaves, verification of the electrical system). Once restored, these lamps will regain their sculptural presence, oscillating between decorative art and luminous sculpture.
