Original Indian ink drawing (depicting Bob Morane sitting on a debris floor with the head of the Yellow Shadow sneering in the background), created in 2017 for the Bob Morane Retrospective, 1980-2012 exhibition at Galerie Napoléon (Paris) from June 1 to June 26, 2017, where Coria was able to unveil premium pieces never before offered for sale, original plates, oil paintings, covers and illustrations. Produced on Schoeller Durex smooth white technical paper (see embossing stamp).
Felicísimo Coria was born on January 10, 1948 in Castilla la Vella, near Palencia (Castilla y León, Spain). At the age of 10, the Coria family moved to Bilbao, in the Basque Country. He had always loved comics and read them a lot. By chance or fate, William Vance met Coria's sister while on vacation in Spain and then married her. Coria joined the couple in Belgium, in Brussels. It was alongside Vance that he gradually learned the ropes of the comic strip artist's trade. Coria would work as an assistant on the sets of the stories of ''Ringo'', ''Bruno Brazil'' and ''Bob Morane''. At the same time, he took correspondence courses in drawing. In 1976, he created his first complete story for ''Tintin'', ''The Night of Bikbachis'', on a script by Yves Duval. In 1979, Henri Vernes and William Vance asked him to take over the drawing of ''Bob Morane'' that Vance no longer had time to animate. The first adventure of ''Bob Morane'' drawn by Coria, ''Opération Wolf'' was published in August 1980. This is how this happy and fruitful collaboration with Henri Vernes was born, which gave birth to 29 albums of ''Bob Morane'' published by ''Editions du Lombard''. Today, Coria and his family live in Spain, in Santander where William Vance, his brother-in-law, has also settled -- Source: https://www.bedetheque.com/auteur-874-BD-Coria.html
