Hamilton & Inches is a luxury jeweller and jewelry designer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. For over 120 years, the company has held a Royal Warrant from the British monarchy as goldsmiths, silversmiths, watchmakers, and clockmakers. The company's headquarters are located on George Street in Edinburgh's New Town district. The company was founded in 1866 by Sir Robert Inches and his uncle, James Hamilton. In 1903, Robert Inches helped establish the Edinburgh Goldsmiths, Silversmiths, and Watchmakers' Association "to prevent firms from selling poor-quality goods and to protect the interests of consumers."
In addition to jewelry making, jewelers have also had the honor of serving as "Her Majesty's Clockmakers and Keepers, responsible for the maintenance of Her Majesty's clocks, watches, and pendulums in the palaces and houses of her former kingdom of Scotland" within the Royal House of Scotland. This role was renewed in 2010 as "Specialist Goldsmiths and Clockmakers to Her Majesty the Queen."
