Samuel Herman De Rosenthal was a renowned British designer and ceramicist, best known for his work in the 1960s with the Studio Line for the German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal AG. Born in 1934 in London, De Rosenthal studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London, where he developed his skills in design and ceramics.

With the creation of the Studio Line, Rosenthal sought to collaborate with innovative designers to produce pieces that embodied the modern aesthetic of the time.
