Samuel Herman De Rosenthal was a renowned British designer and ceramicist, best known for his work in the 1960s with the Studio Line of the German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal AG. Born in London in 1934, De Rosenthal studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London, where he developed his skills in design and ceramics.
In the 1960s, De Rosenthal joined Rosenthal AG, a company that had already acquired an international reputation for the quality of its porcelain and its commitment to contemporary design. With the creation of the Studio Line, Rosenthal sought to collaborate with innovative designers to produce pieces that embodied the modern aesthetic of the time.
De Rosenthal's contribution to the Studio Line was remarkable. He brought a distinctive and experimental style to his creations, combining organic forms with abstract motifs and innovative glazing techniques.
