Roger Dudant is a Belgian artist (Laplaigne, 1929 - Péruwelz, 04/03/2008).
In the fifties and sixties, Dudant's abstraction opened up to a certain lyricism, in landscapes rich in atmospheric nuances and visual or auditory sensations. From 1965 to 1980, Dudant's "fantastical landscapes" (O. Demol) appeared, in which an unreal atmosphere pervaded a proliferation of straight lines generating space, a purely mental construction born of the intersection of planes and incidences of light.
Roger Dudant is the author of a 9-meter mosaic fresco in the Brussels metro.
This canvas is emblematic of his work, which is at once almost figurative and completely imaginary.
