Yves Diey (French, Paris 1892 - 1984 Montluçon): French painter. A student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he became a member of the Salon des Artistes Français. He painted nudes and elegant ladies, popularized by postcards, as well as portraits and still lifes. Yves Diey received medals and awards at the Salon des Artistes Français. He was also a member of other art associations, such as the Salon d'Hiver, the Beaux-Arts de Nice, and the Orientalists of Algiers and Samothrace. In 1940, he led the Petit Salon de Montparnasse, an association of professional painters, in a studio located at 150 Boulevard du Montparnasse. He worked and exhibited in Belgium in the 1950s and 1960s, notably with "Les Arts en Europe" (Arts in Europe).
Yves Diey was first and foremost a portraitist. He possessed a special gift for capturing the soul of his models and giving exceptional expression to their eyes and lips. Primarily inspired by women, he showed a predilection for sensual nudes and seductive female figures.
