Jef van Tuerenhout (Mechelen, 23 May 1926 - Wenduine, 4 March 2006) was a Belgian painter, sculptor, ceramist, engraver and jewelry designer.

Over the course of his career, his style evolved towards neo-expressionism. This ultimately resulted in a slightly erotic and sensual style, bordering on surrealism and magical realism. He is sometimes called the last Belgian surrealist.

From 1966 onwards, he devoted himself almost exclusively to the representation of the mystical woman, rendered with an exotic, refined and complex palette, bathed in light and shadow, in a sensual and magical style. He gradually created his own feminine archetype, which frequently reappears in his work: majestic, inaccessible, irresistible, enigmatic, intriguing, alluring, refined and sensual.
His works are found mainly in private collections, but also in museums, both nationally and internationally.
