Biography:

Belgian painter born in Germany (Gladberg) in 1926, trained at the Academy of Dusseldorf, he moved to Belgium in La Louvière in 1948.

He began his career with Surrealism and then Lyric Abstraction when he arrived in Belgium, he then evolved towards Hyperrealism (Figurative). Subsequently, influenced by Pop'Art and Photography, he paints the bodies of naked women flouted, as if a camera, a camera had trembled during the shot. The theme of the naked woman is almost omnipresent in her provocative and sensual work, magnified by delicate chiaroscuro effects.

In the Press: "Shis works, of a dreamlike realism, are built in an architectural way. His compositions are supported by the curves that celebrate female grace in a sumptuous setting. Its colours dare amazing contrasts with the pearly, tanned, lascivious flesh of its models"...

JPB Prize, H Prize. Jacquet, Europe Painting Award in Ostend, Co-founder of Group G.3.

Works acquired by the State and the Province of Hainaut and at the Museums of Charleroi, Verviers, Frankfurt, Gladbeck. Mentioned in BAS II and in "Two Centuries of Signatures of Artists of Belgium".

Numerous exhibitions including Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels in 1972.
