A fine 17th-century Italian Saint Florian in polychrome wood carving
Saint Florian (Latin: Florianus; 250 - circa 304 AD) was a Christian saint and patron saint of Linz, Austria; chimney sweeps, soap makers and firemen. His feast day is May 4. Saint Florian is also the patron saint of Upper Austria, together with Saint Leopold.
The statue has its original polychromy.
