Painting signed and dated 1945 lower right. Eugène Colignon was born on March 23, 1876 in Namur. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Namur where he was a pupil of Désiré Merny (1865-1947). He continued his studies at the Academy of Brussels with Isidore Verheyden. Eugène Colignon was influenced by the Tervuren school, by T. Baron and by Neo-Impressionism. He excelled in the representation of snowy landscapes. Eugène Colignon died in Beez on January 28, 1961. Source Wikipedia.
