Painter, landscaper, he mainly practised oil painting but also made watercolours. He rubbed shoulders with the artists Pierre Paulus de Chatelet (painter) and Victor Demanet (sculptor). He was also a professor emeritus of great value who trained a significant number of future artists. Scoriel knows how to realise, by simple means, vast landscapes. Its colours are frank and its effects very bright. He himself directly paints his studies on small panels, in nature, which he will reproduce on larger canvases in his workshop
