Village en Ardenne. We can see that the first part of her artistic production is clearly close to the style of Albert Raty, of whom she was a pupil, her eclectic work also reveals the richness and uniqueness of her personality as an artist. Yvonne Tellier was born on June 15, 1917 in Oisy, a village near Vresse, in the commune of Bièvre. After her studies at the Normal School of Virton, she taught at Monceau. After thirty years of teaching in her commune, she left it for another, the chosen one was Vresse-sur-Semois.She moved to Member, where inspired by the Semois, she began in painting. From 1945 to 1953, she took painting lessons by correspondence at the ABC school in Paris. Self-taught, she later became a pupil of Albert Raty. Very often they went together for walks along the Semois and, several times a week, the two painters painted in situation, in nature. Albert Raty always sets up his easel behind his. wind each other and it is through looks and a few sounds that the artist learns to understand, little by little. Self-taught artist, Y. Tellier tried his hand at many styles. She is a jack of all trades artist who paints on instinct. She creates for pleasure and not for money, to the chagrin of her husband who makes her paint series of paintings for exhibitions (les moulins à la Glycine in 1978 which is very successful and where all the paintings are sold). She is an impulsive woman who can burn her paintings when she comes home from a bad day. Spontaneous, sensitive and dynamic, she cultivates the joy of living and transmits it through her painting. His works are sometimes hard and strong in matter, sometimes soft and stripped of all relief. His dynamism is felt in his gestures. The knife, the brush, the paintbrush or the sponge are tools that she uses. (info from the Chaidron Foundation).
