Charles Crépin Nicolas Catteau, born on January 26, 1880 in Douai, and died on October 20, 1966 in Nice, is a Franco-Belgian ceramist and painter. He was born to a Belgian father and a French mother. It will be successful, with international recognition at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925, obtaining a Grand Prix. In 1929, he exhibited at the Salon des artistes français the paintings Porte de Bourgogne and Aux bords du Loing. It will leave many vases including famous sandstones, with stylised motifs from fauna and flora.
