Easel painter, watercolourist and draughtsman as well as portraitist, nude and landscape painter, Marcel Delmotte is also a sculptor. He specialises in visionary landscapes and large symbolic frescoes. He is a student of the painter Léon Van den Houten at the free workshop of the University of Labour in Charleroi. A realistic painter in his early days, he is influenced by expressionism and evolves towards an aesthetic of surrealism with large compositions, lunar landscapes and futuristic architectures.
